Celebrate Earth Week with a Free Tree!

The Jefferson County Library partners with Neighborhood Forest to inspire youth environmentalism and help green our community!

Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has planted over 130,000 (mostly urban and residential) trees through the hands of children and parents across North America. This wonderful program teaches youth about the importance of environmental stewardship through the magic and wonder of planting and watching trees grow.

Parents/Guardians, you can sign your child up to receive a free tree this Earth Day by filling out the short form below. The library location you choose will be the pickup location when your tree arrives.

Sign ups are open now through March 15th, and trees will arrive the week of Earth Day (April 22)! We’ll contact you when your tree is ready for pick-up!

For Parent FAQs please see: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-faqs/

Note: You will also have the option to donate and / or purchase additional trees and tree-related educational products (via the registration form). This is optional and any purchases/donations will help fund more free trees for kids in the program.

I registered! What now?

Trees will be delivered to us and we will arrange for you to pick them up from the branch that you registered with (JCL Cedar Hill or JCL-Northwest) on or around Earth Day (April 22nd).

Other products that are purchased by you will be fulfilled by Neighborhood Forest.

Instructions on planting and caring for the trees, along with species details, will be emailed a few days before the tree delivery and will also be accessible in the “Resources” section on the Neighborhood Forest website. For further questions, please check out the Parent FAQs.

Thank you for your support and participation.  For more information about this program, please visit www.neighborhoodforest.org or www.facebook.com/neighborhoodforest, or call JCL-Cedar Hill or JCL-Northwest.
