The Civil War in jefferson county, mo.


Saturday April 13th 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Northwest Branch

This is a special event featuring the short film Secret Soldiers: Full Metal Corset, a historical look at women who fought in the Civil War disguised as men. Following the film, Civil War re-enactors will present brief skits depicting such topics as medical care during the conflict, the effect on families accused of sedition, and the impact of the war on the citizens of Jefferson County. Special guests will answer questions.

This program is suitable for older children and adults who are interested in the time period. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Mindy or Ginger at 636-677-8186. Advanced registration is required.
