Request a Book We Don't Have
If you can't find an item that you'd like by searching our catalog (we're connected to over 40 libraries in Missouri that we share materials with!) there are a few different ways to get the title you're looking for. See below for more information!
If you’ve searched the shelves at JCL and we don’t have what you need, try WorldCat Discovery and Interlibrary Loan. First, find the item you want in the WorldCat Discovery catalog by clicking the image above. Then place an interlibrary loan (ILL) request in person at the library, over the phone or via this online form and we will ask a library that owns the item to send it here for you! Be advised that if you have fines or owe for overdues, you can't request Interlibrary loans. You are allowed 5 requests in total and items must be at least 6 months past publication/release date.
The library welcomes suggestions for additions to our collection from our cardholders. To request that JCL purchase an item, please fill out the Request for Purchase form online or contact your local branch. If the library does decide to purchase the requested item you will be automatically placed on hold for it. It may take a few weeks for the order decision to be made and processed. The hold will not show on your account until after this has been done. Purchasing decisions are made based on the library's Collection Development Policy and budgetary concerns.
