Books on the Run is our delivery service for temporarily or indefinitely home bound residents with a valid library card.

* The delivery area covers most of our service district in the the Fox, Northwest and Windsor school districts. The service is a cooperative program of the Jefferson County Library System and NextStep for Life.

What Materials Can You Borrow?  In addition to our books, you may borrow magazines, movies, music, audio books, and any other materials that we lend. We also have a collection of books in large print available.

How does it work?   You must have a valid library card. Registration for the delivery service can then be handled by phone or mail, so contact your local branch.  To help us choose materials for you, we ask that you complete a “wish list.” You may select general areas of interest, or you may ask for specific titles and authors.  We will contact you to get directions to your house and to let you know the date and time your first bag of books will be delivered to your door. Materials are delivered once or twice each month. A delivery schedule will be provided. After the first delivery, a new bag of books will be delivered in approximately two weeks. At this time, you should return any materials from the first bag that you have finished. Enclose a note in your return bag, or call the library if you wish to renew items. Please stay in touch with us to let us know how we are doing with selections.  We are happy to work with you to get it right!
